Abdullah Osama Al-Saffar is the Head of the Corporate Department at the firm, with experience advising individuals, corporates, and foreign entities on a broad range of corporate law matters in Iraq, including company formation, registration, governance, and regulatory compliance. His practice also extends to trademark law, commercial agencies, intellectual property rights, securities and financial instruments, as well as arbitration and mediation, all approached from a purely advisory and transactional perspective. Abdullah’s core focus is corporate law, where he advises clients on company incorporation and registration before the relevant Iraqi authorities, selection of appropriate corporate structures, drafting and reviewing constitutive documents and shareholders’ agreements, corporate governance matters, licensing requirements, and ongoing statutory and regulatory compliance for companies operating in Iraq. He also advises on trademark registration and protection and the wider protection of intellectual property rights, guiding clients through the registration process to safeguard their rights, as well as on the registration and regulation of commercial agencies, advising local and foreign principals and agents on their legal requirements and obligations under Iraqi commercial agency law. In addition, Abdullah represents and advises clients in arbitration and mediation proceedings, assisting them in resolving commercial disputes efficiently outside the traditional courts. Abdullah has additional experience advising on securities and financial instruments, including regulatory compliance and financial documentation requirements.
